At Pearly White, we believe that your tooth can be saved in most cases, that is true even in cases where you have lost a substantial part of the tooth crown due to tooth fracture or caries. Yes, it is possible to rebuild the tooth crown even in these cases through this procedure.

Post and Core requires a root canal treatment of the tooth followed by custom made placement of a post into the tooth. The core is then built up around the Post and is thereafter covered with a crown. The completed procedure allows for the reconstruction of a tooth which is sufficiently strong to withstand the rigours and demands of a normal tooth.

A post and core is a dental restoration, which is used to build-up tooth structure for future restoration with a crown when there is not enough tooth structure to properly retain the crown, due to loss of tooth structure. It offers longevity and strengthens the tooth. It is generally conducted after a patient has had a root canal treatment. The post is crafted from either metal or a strengthened plastic fibre, and is secured within the centre of the tooth with cement.
